Overview
Rodolfo wants to marry the aristocrat Adriana who rejects him. Humberto, her brother, kills a man for her. Rodolfo attributes the crime to the gypsy Renzo so that Adriana will gratefully marry him. Renzo is sent to the island of the condemned, where he is left for dead.
